CVC Garden Fence Project
One of the local projects in our past years was the Century Villages at Cabrillo (CVC) garden fence project. CVC is a nonprofit community development organization that serves as the steward of the Villages at Cabrillo. CVC has developed into a therapeutic community that provides housing to over 1,000 people. Residents include veteran and non-veteran individuals, families, youth and children.
To prevent any thefts or vandalism of the garden from occurring, CVC reached out to us to design and construct a garden fence around some planters. The planters are next to a playground, which isn’t a safe environment for them. EWB formed a small team for this project and met regularly to work on it. Our club communicated with the community to discuss its needs and wants for the project. Some topics discussed at our meetings were about the design of the fence, the pricing and the type of wood. We proposed a design to the owners of the complex and eventually began to construct the fence. |
